Wednesday, June 25, 2025 A special screening of the renowned German film “Lola Rennt” (“Run Lola Run”) was organised by the German Embassy in Islamabad in collaboration with the Goethe Institute and the Marriott Hotel Islamabad.
“Run Lola Run” is among the most entertaining, engaging, and stylish films. The tension immediately rises when Lola receives a call from her boyfriend Manni, who informs her that he will be killed by a gangster if he doesn’t acquire 100,000 deutsche marks in 20 minutes. Without delay, Lola takes off sprinting through Berlin in a desperate effort to gather the funds for her boyfriend. What’s intriguing is that Lola undertakes this journey three times, each leading to distinct results influenced by minor events that occur to her while she runs.
A wide range of audience attended the screening, including members of the Diplomatic Corps, journalists, businessmen, representatives of the cultural and civil society sectors and general public.
