Book Launching: “A House Without a Door”

Join us for the launch of A House Without a Door, the latest work by Khalid Fateh Muhammad, a retired cavalry officer, novelist, short story writer, translator, critic and editor of a quarterly Urdu magazine Idraak.

With literary contribution spanning twelve Urdu novels, two Punjabi novels, nine collections of short stories and eight collections of translations of international fiction into Urdu, Khalid Fateh Muhammad has established a distinctive voice in contemporary literature.

His fiction turns its attention to the common person, exploring not only the visible hardships of everyday life but also the deeper psychological wounds that often remain unseen. His characters inhabit a world shaped by stark realities, yet his writing continues to search for hope. Fantasy, hallucinatory realism, symbols and metaphors become ways of confronting reality, revealing its contradictions and making space for other possibilities.
