The “Taste of the World 2026” food festival recently transformed the Islamabad Serena Hotel into a vibrant hub of global culture and compassion. Co-organized by the International Foreign Women’s Association (IFWA) and Serena Hotels, this beloved charity event brought together diplomatic communities and food lovers to celebrate diversity through the universal language of food.
Here is a quick look at the highlights from this year’s festivities:
- A Global Feast: The event featured stalls from diplomatic missions, each offering authentic traditional dishes and sweet treats that provided guests with a truly immersive culinary journey.
- A Powerful Cause: More than just a meal, the festival raised a remarkable PKR 2 million. These proceeds are dedicated to supporting visually impaired individuals and other underprivileged communities through IFWA’s charitable panel.
- Strong Leadership: The festival was formally inaugurated by Ms. Misbah Khar (Adviser to the Chairman Senate), Nompumelelo Abu Basutu (IFWA President), and Aziz Boolani (CEO of Serena Hotels).
- A Legacy of Giving: Established in 1995, IFWA is a non-profit volunteer organization that has a long history of impactful projects in Pakistan, such as donating wheelchairs to medical institutes and providing essential supplies to local schools.
As Aziz Boolani noted during the event, “Taste of the World” is about more than hospitality; it is a celebration of unity and compassion that bridges cultures and empowers those in need. We look forward to seeing how these contributions continue to enrich lives and foster a more inclusive future for all.
